Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) has been a significant museum since its inception in 1885. With over 100 separate galleries, spanning over 650,000 square feet, the DIA has one of the most diverse collections in the United States.

Van Gogh’s – Self Portrait hangs proudly in the DIA, the first American museum to ever acquire a piece of this great master’s work. The gallery offers art works from every part of the world, spanning from ancient times to modern marvels. In addition, the DIA offers many exhibitions throughout the year, including famous tours such as The Treasures of Tut and The Many Faces of Jesus by Rembrandt.
